IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING SERVICES

  1. Kenny Waste Management requires at least 24 hours’ notice for next day service. If the official instruction is received before 10am then next day service is achievable subject to Kenny Waste Management not encountering any logistical problems or problems out of its control (am or pm can be requested).  However, we will always endeavour to meet individual requirements.  If requested before 3pm we will attempt to meet next day delivery, however if the instruction is requested after 3pm then it is likely to be within 48 hours.
  2. Delivery of wheelie bins can take up to 7-10 working days from date from point of call off.
  3. A 30-day notice period is required for the off-hire and final collection of wheelie bins for office and canteen/mixed municipal waste.
  4. Kenny Waste Management advises that 24/48 hours’ notice is recommended for the delivery of chain lift skips and up to 72 hours’ notice is recommended for the delivery of roll on roll off skips but we aim to provide same day delivery where possible.
  5. Kenny Waste Management will endeavour to the best of its ability to meet any special requirements that our customer requires.
  6. The hirer shall ensure that the skip is not overloaded by weight or by volume at the point of collection. 8-yard skips should be loaded so that it is filled no higher than the top of the sides; 12-yard, 14-yard and 16-yard are only to be used for light waste or loaded no more than the maximum legal road limit (7 tonnes).  25-yard and up to 40-yard roll on roll off are only to be used for light waste or loaded no more than the maximum legal road limit (16 tonnes).  Kenny Waste Management reserves the right to refuse to collect overloaded skips and any costs incurred due to unsafe loads/overloading (including wasted journeys) will be passed onto the hirer.  Additional charges may be levied.
  7. The customer will endeavour to ensure that there is free access into the site and that the access to the skip is clear to enable the skip delivery/exchange/collection to be carried out safely. Charges will apply as per Kenny Waste Management Terms & Conditions, section 1.3, if our driver and truck are held up after a service is requested.
  8. The maximum rental period for skips is 28 days. It is the responsibility of the hirer to request the collection within this time.  Failure to do so will result in unannounced collection and/or rental charges being incurred at £1.50 per day for chain lift skips and £3.50 per day for roll on roll offs.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING HAZARDOUS WASTE

  1. Hazardous waste is not to be mixed with any other waste stream(s) in accordance with the Hazardous Waste Regulations (October 2005) and the pre-treatment of requirements of the EC Landfill Directive of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
  2. All hazardous waste packaging (tins, tubs, tubes etc.) of any sort must be empty. It is the waste producer’s responsibility to inform the waste disposer under your Duty of Care and advise of the relevant EWC Code to be adopted.
  3. STRICT WASTE CLASSIFICATION: Hazardous Waste is not to be mixed with any other waste in accordance with the Hazardous Waste Regulations October 2005 and the pre-treatment requirements of the EC Landfill Directive of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
  4. It is illegal to deposit hazardous waste without prior notification and as such all tin, tubs, tubes and packaging of any sort MUST be empty. Please call for help and advice to dispose of product waste contained in any of the above.  It is the waste producer’s responsibility to inform the waste disposer under your duty of care and advise on the relevant EWC Code to be adopted.
  5. Please allow 10 working days for the collection of 205 litre drums.

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

  1. General
    • Kenny Waste Management cannot and will not be held responsible or liable for any damage caused whatsoever if the hirer requests the company driver to take his vehicle off the Public Highway to deliver/position the skip in a location requested by the hirer or their representatives.
    • Kenny Waste Management will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by failure to supply, or any delay in supply.
    • The time allowed for loading/unloading is 15 minutes. If the vehicle is kept waiting longer than this Kenny Waste Management reserves the right to charge waiting time at £25.00 per 15 minutes.
    • Kenny Waste Management reserves the right to charge the customer for all costs incurred as a result of a late cancellation of service by way of a wasted journey charge of £95.00, being the minimum charge depending on skip/lorry size and location, up to a maximum of £150.00.

 

  1. Skip/Wheelie Bin Hire
    • Skips can only be placed on the public highway by prior arrangement with Kenny Waste Management. A permit to site a skip on the public highway, including footpaths, is required from the relevant local authority.  Kenny Waste Management can arrange the relevant permits to deposit a skip on the highway with the relevant local authority and a charge will be made.  Charges vary with different local authorities.  It is the hirers responsibility to make sure that all cones and lights are in place in line with the Highways Act 1980.
    • The hirer shall ensure that the skip is not overloaded by weight or by volume at the point of collection. All skips should be loaded so that they are not filled higher than the top of its sides. 7 tonnes for the 12yard, 16yard and 15 tonnes for 25yard up to 40yard roll on-off. Kenny Waste Management reserves the right to refuse to collect overloaded skips and any costs incurred due to unsafe loads/overloading (including wasted journeys) will be passed onto the hirer.  Additional charges may be levied.
    • The lighting of fires in or near skips is strictly prohibited. The hirer will be liable for any loss or damage to the skip container (excluding fair wear and tear) during the term of the skip hire period and will be charged the current purchase price of the skip should it be lost or stolen whilst on the customers site.  Once a skip has been placed, it shall not be repositioned without prior consent from Kenny Waste Management.  Moving skips on site could result in the inability to collect skip or damage to the skip.
    • The maximum rental period is 7 days for “non-account” customers and 28 days for “account” customers. It is the responsibility of the hirer to request the collection within this time.  Failure to do so will result in unannounced collection.
    • The responsibility for the skip remains with the hirer until collected by a Kenny Waste Management vehicle. Any skips which are removed, lost or stolen whilst in the control of the hirer will be charged at full and new replacement value
    • A 30-day notice period is required for the off-hire and final collection of wheelie bins for office and canteen/mixed municipal waste

 

  1. Tipping/Waste Disposal
    • Kenny Waste Management is registered with the Environmental Agency as a waste carrier.
    • Customers using Kenny Waste Management as a tipping facility do so entirely at their own risk and must follow our site rules. Kenny Waste Management accepts no responsibility for damage or injury of any nature that may occur to persons or vehicles whilst using our site.
    • Vehicles may only use such portions of the sites as are allocated to them.
    • Only waste permitted under the waste permit/licence or exemptions may be deposited on the sites.
    • Kenny Waste Management reserves the right to refuse any materials which it considers to be objectionable or unsuitable for deposit on the company’s sites.
    • Material for deposit on our sites will only be accepted from registered waste carriers and must be accompanied by a controlled waste transfer note stating a description of the waste (with EWC Code), the source of the waste and the details of the waste carrier, including carrier registration number. Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations 1991.

 

  1. Sale of Materials
    • All materials are sold on the basis that the weight or quantity is as stated on the conveyance note. Kenny Waste Management will not accept any responsibility once the load has been discharged and accepted by the onsite signatory.
    • Unless expressly agreed in writing Kenny Waste Management prices are for materials as stated on the quotation. Where the customer requires an alteration in the grade or type of material, or where it becomes necessary to supply from another source, an extra charge may be made for any additional costs which may be incurred by Kenny Waste Management.
    • Price reviews can take place at any time within the agreement period if issues outside the control of Kenny Waste Management come into play. However, Kenny Waste Management Ltd will demonstrate through substantiation the rate of any price review.
    • Risk in the goods shall pass to the customer on delivery.

 

  1. Payment Terms

Non-standard credit terms will be applied after completion of Credit Application forms if non-standard terms are deemed appropriate as part of the Companies Credit Policy (can be supplied on request).  Non-standard payment terms will be notified to the customer when the account is opened if non-standard payment terms are applied to the customer’s account.
